I recently set up a planted aquarium using this 1000g bag of aquarium soil. It is easy to use, no rinsing or special preparation needed, just open the bag and add it to the tank. The packaging says not to mix with other gravel. In my case I just wanted an area in my tank for plants to thrive, but also had a specific look in mind for the overall aquarium. I did not mix it, but used it together with another gravel. To do an entire aquarium, even just a small one like my 20 gallon tank with only this product, would be very expensive at the current list price.I’ve planted a few so far, and they seem to be thriving in this substrate. The soil appears to be providing them with the essential nutrients they need for healthy growth.
