I was hoping for mailing envelopes that were the same thickness as your typical yellow mailer. So when I got them, I was alarmed at how thin the paper was—I thought for sure it would be see-through, but it wasn’t. The envelopes have a blue security print inside. The description says water and tear resistant, and I (wrongly) assumed that that could NOT be true given how thin and flimsy the envelopes felt. So I stuck one under the faucet and even tried to rub some of the water into the paper purposely. It didn’t soak up any moisture! After that, I took the same envelope (thinking I had surely weakened the paper somehow) and tried to tear it. To my surprise, I couldn’t rip it even though I tried.These envelopes are far superior to the traditional, thicker-feeling, yellow mailing envelopes. I highly recommend them. They also have the sticker sealer, as opposed to the lick/moisture activated seal. (Do they still make the moisture activated ones anymore?) I was, however, surprised that even though the description says I ordered white envelopes, these envelopes actually have a light marbled pattern. [...]
